Marina Byrum has 43 years' experience in the travel business, having begun her long career in 1965 after graduating from Weaver's Airline Personnel School in Kansas City, Missouri. Most of her travel tenure was in management, and Marina was at one time Regional Director for a $20 million travel firm based in Dallas, TX. She served on Northwest Airline's Travel Agent's Advisory Board from 1993 to 1995.

She earned her Certified Travel Counselor Certificate in the 1980's. She has traveled extensively around the world and has guided many clients in their travel endeavours over the years. She has earned Destination Specialist designations for Ecuador, Japan, Thailand, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii and Belize.

Marina's areas of expertise are river cruises, as well as ocean voyages; travel to Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Hawaii. Her travels have also taken her to Central and South America, especially Belize, Costa Rica, Peru and Ecuador. She has also visited China, Japan and Hong Kong and has traveled on safari in Kenya. Having visited over 500 major cities around the world, Marina continues to travel and enjoy as many of the world's destinations as possible.

Marina currently shares her vast knowledge of anything and everything related to travel by writing a travel column in a local news periodical. She also participates in as many training and travel education classes as her busy schedule allows.

Marina is affiliated with Ascot Lakeway Travel in the
Austin, Texas area, as well as Tripology.com, an on-line travel agency referral firm.

Marina also writes a travel column for a local periodical in the Lakeway area.
